Baby's First Zoo Visit

Basically, you will need at least six hours to cover Singapore Zoo http://www.zoo.com.sg or more if you actually go for the animals feedings, and shows. Do purchase your entrance tickets online (with 30 days validity) as some of the major banks' credit cards are offering a 20% discount. It would be advisable to get tram tickets (at additional SGD5) if you are travelling with children. Don't forget to bring along swimwear for your child to enjoy at Wet Play Area, KidzWorld. You may check out the other attraction River Safari here.

Checking out park map
Our first stop was at Treetops Trail (most probably the same for everyone) whereby there are False Gavials (freshwater crocodile) swimming underneath the bridge.

Up next are a bunch of lovely Otters. They certainly have swift movements, and enjoyed swimming a lot.

At the other end of Treetops Trail, we could see little squirrels munching away.

After passing by Rain forest Walk, and Tiger Trek, we reached Frozen Tundra with a majestic Polar Bear swimming in huge aquarium.

Before boarding our tram at station 1, we managed to capture a baby Orang Utan at Free Ranging Orang Utan Boardwalk.

I must praise the friendliness of zookeepers especially tram drivers. They are always wearing a smile, and more than happy to help us with our strollers. It certainly is a great experience where I can forget about stressful Singapore's lifestyle for a moment.

Below are some animals along the way before we stopped by at KidzWorld.

Rhinoceros
Giraffe
Zebra
Leopard
Warthog
Lion
Meekat

Naked Mole Rat
We insisted to check out farm animals first before playing at wet play area.

A well designed water park equipped with endless fun! No wonder our baby refused to leave when we said it was time to go.

Do try out Rainforest Challenge as well as Tug Boat. A pretty small playground for toddlers who are afraid of water play is located next to water park.

How could we leave without letting baby ride on his favourite carousel?

It would be fun if baby dares to jump on Mega Bounce (located directly opposite Sungei Buaya).

We proceeded to Fragile Forest, and Reptile Garden (it gives me chills just by snapping photographs of snakes).

Ring-tailed Lemur
Komodo Dragon

Penguins in my opinion are the most irresistible creatures on earth. The way they waddle away, jumping into a pool, and start to swim melts my heart.

Oh yes, the famous White Tiger is not to be missed!

Take a tram from station three to Elephants of Asia. Watch them performing with the rangers from afar.

Walk down to Australian Outback where you can have close encounter with Kangaroo, and Cassowary.

We hurried over to Splash Safari Show at 5pm (last show of the day), and was truly amazed by sea lion's performance. Choose a higher seating if you do not wish to get wet, now you know how the show got its name.

Last few animals before we leave for the day (zoo closes at 6pm).

Hippopotamus
Babi Rusa
We were lucky to run into some Elephants strolling by with their trainers.
